Chemistry and the Industrial Sector - A Case of a Developing Nigerian Economy

This paper is a review, providing an overview of the Chemical Industry in Nigeria. It X-rays its areas of success, failures tried to identify the obstacles that had militated against the growth of the chemical industry and highlights on sectors within the industry where further progress ought to be made and can still be made based on national needs amongst other consideration. The paper presented a table as it relates raw materials to their industry and products. Finally, different models of national industrialization patterns were discussed and a possible suggestion as to how the take-off can be made in order for the country to reap bountifully from the massive local and international markets which abound in the chemical industry.
