Comparison of Soil Conductivities between Crushed Rock from Akoko Land and Land Of Bitumen in Ondo State, Nigeria

Soil is the naturally occurring unconsolidated or loose covering on the earth’s surface,  which is made up of broken  rock particles that have been  altered by the  chemical  and environmental conditions, affected by processes such as weathering  and erosion, but different from its parents rock sources, altered by interactions between the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and the biosphere. It is the mixture of mineral and organic constituents that are in solid, gaseous and aqueous states. Conduction is the principal way in which sensible heat current moves in the soil. The Conduction of heat requires heat Conductive materials as a medium.  Heat flows more rapidly through some media than others.  This study reveals the ions, pHs, and electrical conductivities of soils from six different locations in Akoko land and Ikale land (land of Bitumen). The pH range of 2.3-5.03 was observed clearly revealing the acidity of the soils with varying composition of cations and electrical conductivities of between 117.9us and 568us.
