Abstract

In this era of economic recession in Nigeria, every hand should be on deck to find a lasting solution to the herculean problem faced by the nation. One of the easiest ways out is the development of entrepreneurial skills in the youths. On this note, an evaluation was undertaken on the roles of science teachers in the development of entrepreneurial skills at the secondary school level in Ondo town, Ondo State Nigeria. It was discovered that the major challenges inhibiting the development of entrepreneurial skills at the secondary school level are lack of adequate funding, lack of adequate experience and limited knowledge on the part of the science teachers. More budgetary allocations should be made to ensure adequate funding of education with particular attention to entrepreneurship skills development. Entrepreneur skills development subjects should be incorporated into schools curricula at all levels of education while teachers/educators should be encouraged and supported to undertake active participation in workshops and seminars of entrepreneurial development.
