THE COST OF EDUCATION AND THE CALL FOR STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS: A CASE STUDY OF CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT, ADEYEMI COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Abstract

In the midst of the proclaimed and acclaimed recession of Nigeria, there are several calls for students to become entrepreneurs so as to aid their survival and at the same time give a relief to the nation's economy. This paper analyze the implications of the cost of study of Chemistry at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo and entrepreneurial engagements of students on the academic performance of the students. It looks into the cost of completing graduate studies in Chemistry, striving effort to meet the challenges and how it affect the economic competence of students in the overall. Questionnaire were used to gather data from current students and those that just graduated.
