CLIMATE CHANGE ON HYDROPOWER GENERATION IN NIGERIA: IMPLICATION ON PHYSICS EDUCATION

Abstract

This study appraised the climate change on hydropower generation in Nigeria and its implication on Physics education. The study was carried out in five selected secondary schools in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State. Fifty students (respondents) were involved in the study. A self administered questionnaire was used to gather data from respondents. T-Test was used for data analysis. It was found out that the causes of climate change have significant effect on hydropower generation and Physics education in Nigeria. It was recommended that government should create more awareness on the dangers of climate change, and there is need for laws and implementation of laws against the indiscriminate cutting of trees and over exploitation of forest resource.
