ENHANCING EFFECTIVE HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SYSTEM IN NIGERIAI VIA INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

Abstract: Information and Communication Technologies are tools that facilitate communication, processing and transmission of information and sharing of knowledge in this 21st century. Health care delivery system are the provision of health services to a given population, agencies and the personnel like nurses, physicians etc. in developing countries like Nigeria; information is not always easily obtained due to lack of proper record keeping. Preventable disease and premature death still inflict on a high toll, access to health care services affect many communities and regions. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is the answer to every aspect of health sector. Hence, this study therefore, examined: the essential roles and methods of the Information and Communicable Technology in enhancing effective health care delivery system in Nigeria. Consultations and interactions to Health Care Centers were carried out to ascertain the use of Telemedicine, eNets, mhealth. This paper therefore concludes that every health sector should make use of Information and Communication technology for effective health care delivery.
