ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION IN BIOLOGY A TOOL FOR REDUCING UNEMPLOYMENT AMONG STUDENTSOF HIGHER INSTITUTION.

Abstract
This research work examined entrepreneurial education in biology as a tool for reducing
unemployment among graduates. The research work was based on data gotten from students of
Adeyemi College of Education Ondo, Ondo west local government area of Ondo state. A
questionnaire titled SAB “Skilled Acquisition in biology” consisting of 25 items was
administered to 150 students of biology at different level of study. Descriptive research method
was adopted to collate relevant data. The information gathered were analyzed to answer the
research hypothesis and interpreted using t-test statistical tool, the result of the analyzed data
showed that the high turnout of graduates from all higher institution of learning in the country increases the rate of unemployment. The economic implication of this is a decline in the
employment opportunity of the nation. The result also showed that there was significant
difference between entrepreneurial education in biology and unemployment of graduates in
biology. The research also recommends adequate funding of entrepreneurial programs, making
loans available to graduates so as to practice the skills acquired during their course of study
instead of depending on white collar jobs.
