Abstract: One of the causes of recession in Nigeria is the sole dependence on oil. The drop in demand for oil globally has eventually affected oil pricing and consequently, weakened energy sustainability and efficiency. The evolution of solar energy could make energy more independent and less dependent on fossil fuel. Acknowledging the positive values of solar power, there is a case for the Nigerian government to look into solar energy to encourage its progression rate. This paper theoretically investigates solution to Nigeria economic recession through massive investment in solar energy.
